Biography:

Dr. Jaimes is a dermatologist specializing in the detection and management of skin cancer. She completed a fellowship in cutaneous oncology, with focus on Merkel cell carcinoma at CBRC/Mass General Hospital in Boston, and University of Washington in Seattle. Following the completion of her dermatology training in Medellín, Colombia, she participated in a skin cancer and pigmented lesion fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Before joining the Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, she worked as an attending physician at Aurora Centro Especializado en Cáncer de Piel and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín Colombia. Dr. Jaimes is a dedicated physician, researcher and educator. Her research interests are focused on melanoma, nevi, dermoscopy, and other imaging techniques that enhance early detection of skin cancer. She is committed to education, and frequently lectures on these topics at national and international meetings. She is the author of several book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles and the recently published Pocket Guide to Dermoscopy.
